Backer keys have been sent!
over 6 years ago – Tue, Dec 19, 2017 at 12:26:48 AM

Hi all,

We've just sent out keys via backerkit. You should be able to get started on the Steam version right away. Denpasoft will launch in about 2 hours and you'll be able to redeem your copy then.

We have a few things to talk about the game and why we took so long to get the keys to backers.

  • The game's engine is very picky and when there are script changes all your save files will be deleted. We worked very hard to try to find a solution to avoid this but was not successful.
  • The font, we've changed that and had to retest the game from scratch to find overflows.
  • We did not want to ruin our backer's experience while we pushed multiple fixes a day to Steam and forcing people to constantly restart.
  • Steam cards do not drop, due to how the locale emulator works we were not able to get the Steam overlay to reload on to the game after the emulator runs. However the game DOES work on English locale but there are issues that we wouldn't recommend backers play to finish the game. You can rename LeyLine.exe to leylinelauncher.exe and you can have Steam track your hours.

Now regarding the saves being deleted when scripts change, that also means saves between the Denpasoft version and the Steam version are not compatible as they will just delete each other.

Have a happy holidays and we will be back with a update on the 2nd game in the series in the near future!

The Borderline of Dusk Update #1
over 6 years ago – Thu, Nov 30, 2017 at 11:42:54 PM

Hi everyone,

Wanted to post a quick update game status. We're still behind on getting The Borderline of Dusk ready for backers. Having worked though the holiday weekend to fulfill the requirements necessary for a release of all the versions of the game for the backer's beta that were set by the license holder. We unfortunately we were not able to complete it before the end of November and as the result of that, the beta has been delayed until it is complete.

Thank you for understanding, once we finish the requirements we will also reveal the release date for everyone who didn't back the game.

Progress Update On All Three Games
over 6 years ago – Mon, Oct 23, 2017 at 11:33:08 PM

Hi everyone,

Today we have an update for the whole Ley-Line series. The first game, "The Borderline of Dusk," is in the final stage of QA and we'll be sending keys to backers pretty soon. We were a little too optimistic with our "late summer" estimate, but we're expecting to have the game out before the end of November - maybe even early November.

The second game in the series is now 87% complete, with only one route left to go. The third game is 50% translated, and the artbook also has preliminary translation done. Once translation and editing are complete for the other two games, QA should be a much faster process. We'll be able to reuse the same solutions that we developed for the first game, meaning that the majority of technical issues should be easily fixable.

We'll have more information on the rest of the series early next year. We can't wait for you to be able to play "The Borderline of Dusk" really soon. As always, thanks for your patience and support.

Backerkit Lockdown September 30
over 6 years ago – Wed, Sep 20, 2017 at 12:16:58 AM

Hey everyone,

We'd like to announce that we're going to be locking down and charging Backerkits for the Ley-Line Kickstarter on September 30th. For real this time. So, if you need to make any changes to your order, you've got a little under two weeks left to do so. You'll still be able to modify your shipping address after lockdown, of course.

The first game, "A Clockwork Ley-Line: Borderline of Dusk" should be released to backers pretty soon. As we mentioned in a previous update, there are some engine issues that are being resolved, and once that's taken care of the first game will be released. The Steam store page for the game is now up, so if you missed out on the Kickstarter, you can add it to your wishlist to know as soon as the game is available.

If you haven't finished setting up your Backerkit, be sure to take care of that now! Don't miss out on the chance to add the light novel to your order if you want a copy!

Update #14: Light Novel News!
over 6 years ago – Tue, Aug 15, 2017 at 11:22:01 PM

Hello backers!

We've got some exciting news for everyone who's been asking about the Leyline light novel stretch goal. After a lot of discussion with the developer, we got the okay to offer the light novel as an add-on in both digital and physical format to all backers. For that reason, we will postpone lockdown till September 30th, 24:00 PST.

Originally, the digital was a bonus available to backers at the $99 tier and above but we're pleased to finally be able to make this available to everyone interested. The digital version will be available at $12 while the physical will be available at $15. While there aren't plans to release the light novel outside of BackerKit, once all backer rewards are sent, we'll have more details on that.

As always, thank you everyone for your patience on this matter!

For those of you who may be interested, we are currently helping to fund the completion of Love in Space's latest game, Shining Song Starnova! Drop by and have a look!
